# How to Download Your Client Master List from Motilal Oswal
Motilal Oswal offers an instant client master download — but it is in a place most people never look, which is why the search "client master list Motilal Oswal" gets typed so often.
It is not in the main trading platform. It is in DP-Class, the separate depository-participant portal.
The steps
- 1Log in to DP-Class on Motilal Oswal web.
- 2Go to Reports.
- 3Open **CMR Report New**.
- 4Enter your Account No. and click Show.
- 5Click Export to PDF.
The PDF downloads instantly — no email wait.

Why you could not find it
The main Motilal Oswal trading platform and the DP-Class depository portal are separate systems with separate menus. Depository documents — client master, transaction statements, holding statements from the DP side — live in DP-Class. Trading documents live in the main platform.
If you have been searching the trading app's Reports section for a CMR, this is the reason it is not there.
The password on the PDF
Almost every CMR arrives as a password-protected PDF. Motilal Oswal uses PAN in capitals alone — ABCDE1234F.
Two things trip people up:
- PAN must be in capitals.
ABCDE1234F, notabcde1234f. Most PDF readers do not tell you the case was wrong — they just reject the password. - Do not remove the password yourself. You do not need to. Upload the protected file and type the password into the field below the file picker; Polemarch decrypts it server-side. Re-saving the PDF through a third-party "unlock" site strips the broker's digital signature, which is exactly the thing verification checks for.
CDSL or NSDL — it depends on your account
Motilal Oswal runs as a depository participant on both CDSL and NSDL, so unlike Zerodha (always CDSL) or ICICI Direct (always NSDL), the answer varies by account.
You do not need to work it out in advance. The issued CMR names the depository. If you want to check quickly: CDSL demat numbers are 16 digits, NSDL numbers are written as IN followed by 14 characters.
Both formats are accepted wherever a CMR is requested.
If the export fails
- 1Allow pop-ups for the Motilal Oswal domain — the PDF export opens in a new window.
- 2Confirm you entered the correct Account No. — DP-Class will show an empty report rather than an error if the number does not match an account you hold.
- 3Use a desktop browser; DP-Class is not well adapted to mobile.
- 4If DP-Class access itself is the problem, your relationship manager or Motilal Oswal customer care can email the CMR to your registered address.
Uploading the CMR to Polemarch
Once you have the PDF:
- 1Open Dashboard → Demat Accounts → Add.
- 2Pick your broker from the dropdown — broker-specific instructions appear inline.
- 3Upload the CMR PDF. If it is password-protected, type the password in the field below the file picker. We strip it server-side and store the unencrypted copy (max 2 MB; larger files are auto-compressed).
Our verification partner matches the PAN and holder name automatically. If everything matches, the demat is marked verified instantly. If not, it goes to manual review and we email you within one business day.
Shares you buy are delivered into your own demat account at CDSL or NSDL, in your name — Polemarch never holds them. Settlement is T+2 working days.
