What is a CMR?
A Client Master Report is a one-page PDF from your depository (CDSL or NSDL) that lists:
- Your name
- PAN
- BO ID / DP ID
- Demat account holders
- Address on record
Polemarch uses the CMR during KYC to verify that the demat receiving your shares is in your name. Each broker generates the CMR slightly differently — pick yours below. Steps verified against each broker's own help-center on 2026-05-08.
Password note: CMR PDFs are usually password-protected. PAN (in capitals) is the default for almost every broker; Zerodha appends date of birth as PANDDMMYYYY. When you upload to Polemarch, type the password in the field below the file picker — we strip it server-side before storing.Zerodha (CDSL)

console.zerodha.com. - 2Click Account → Documents.
- 3Select Zerodha CMR copy → click E-mail to me.
CMR is emailed to your registered email — not an instant download. Only available 48 working hours after account opening. Password: PAN (CAPS) + DOB in DDMMYYYY.
Groww (CDSL)
- 1Open the Groww app or web → Profile → Reports.
- 2Under Holdings, tap CMR Copy → Send Email.
Emailed by end of day. Password: PAN (CAPS).
Angel One (CDSL)
Angel One does not currently expose a self-serve CMR option in-app.

PDF arrives within 1 business day. Password: PAN (CAPS); try PAN+DOB if PAN-only fails.
Upstox (CDSL)
- 1Open the Upstox app → tap Account at the bottom.
- 2Open Reports / Help → request CMR.
PDF is mailed to your registered email. Password: PAN (CAPS).
ICICI Direct (NSDL)
- 1Log in to
icicidirect.com→ Portfolio → Reports. - 2Click Client Master Report → Download CMR Copy.
Digitally-signed PDF emailed instantly / same day. Password: PAN (CAPS).
Kotak Securities (NSDL)
- 1Log in to Kotak Neo (web or app) → Account / Profile → Reports.
- 2Choose Request for Client Master Report (CMR).
PDF arrives by email within ~24 hours. Password: PAN (CAPS). Most retail accounts are NSDL via Kotak Mahindra Bank; some Neo-opened accounts are CDSL — verify on the issued CMR.
HDFC Securities (NSDL)
- 1Log in to
hdfcsec.com→ Holdings. - 2Open Reports → click Download CMR.
Digitally-signed PDF, typically instant download. Fallback: email customercare@hdfcsec.com or call 022-39019400. Password: PAN (CAPS).
Motilal Oswal (NSDL or CDSL)
- 1Log in to DP-Class on Motilal Oswal web → Reports → CMR Report New.
- 2Enter Account No. → Show → Export to PDF.
Instant PDF export. Password: PAN (CAPS).
5paisa (CDSL)
5paisa doesn't currently expose a self-serve CMR button.

IIFL Securities (NSDL or CDSL)

Dhan (CDSL)

- 2Beside Client Master Report, tap Email Me.
PDF is sent to your registered email (it's an email-trigger from inside the app, not a literal in-app download). Password: PAN (CAPS).
Paytm Money (CDSL)
Paytm Money emails the CMR at account opening; there's no self-serve button in-app.

Other brokers (regional, family-office DPs, etc.)
If your broker isn't listed:
- 1Most brokers expose a CMR option under Profile / My Account / e-Services / Customer Service — search for *"CMR"* or *"Client Master"* in their app or website.
- 2As a fallback, email your broker's customer support from your registered email with subject
CMR Request — <BO ID / Client Code>. - 3NSDL account holders can also use NSDL IDeAS to download a CMR-equivalent statement themselves.
Uploading to Polemarch
Once you have the PDF:
- 1Open Dashboard → Demat Accounts → Add.
- 2Pick your broker from the dropdown — broker-specific instructions appear inline.
- 3Upload the CMR PDF. If it's password-protected, enter the password in the field below the file picker — we strip it server-side and store the unencrypted version (max 2 MB; we auto-compress).
- 4Our verification partner matches the PAN + holder name automatically. If everything matches, the demat is marked verified instantly. Otherwise we queue it for manual review and email you within 1 business day.
