# How to Download Your CML / CMR from SBI Securities
SBI Securities does not currently expose a self-serve client master download. If you have been searching the platform for a button, there is not one — the document is obtained by request.
The steps
Either:
- Email
[email protected]from your registered email address, with the subject *Request for Client Master Report (CMR)* and your client code in the body; or - Call 022-6854-5555.
The digitally-signed PDF is emailed back within one business day.
*Route verified against SBI Securities' own support channel on 2026-05-08.*
CDSL or NSDL? With SBI it genuinely varies
Most brokers are one or the other. SBI is one of the handful that is both, and which one you are on depends on how the account was opened:
- SBI Securities retail accounts are usually **CDSL, with a DP ID beginning 12044700**.
- **Accounts opened through the SBI bank depository participant are NSDL**.
This matters less than people fear — both are equally acceptable wherever a CMR is requested, and the issued document states the depository on its face. But it is worth knowing if you hold more than one SBI-linked demat and need to be sure which account you are documenting.
A quick tell: CDSL demat numbers are 16 digits; NSDL numbers are written as IN followed by 14 characters.
The password on the PDF
Almost every CMR arrives as a password-protected PDF. SBI Securities uses PAN in capitals alone — ABCDE1234F.
Two things trip people up:
- PAN must be in capitals.
ABCDE1234F, notabcde1234f. Most PDF readers do not tell you the case was wrong — they just reject the password. - Do not remove the password yourself. You do not need to. Upload the protected file and type the password into the field below the file picker; Polemarch decrypts it server-side. Re-saving the PDF through a third-party "unlock" site strips the broker's digital signature, which is exactly the thing verification checks for.
Send from the registered address
As with every broker that handles CMRs by email, the request must come from the email address registered on the account. The document contains your PAN and demat identifiers, so it is not sent to unverified inboxes.
A request from the wrong address is usually not refused with an explanation — it is simply not actioned. If you are unsure which address is registered, check the sender on any recent SBI Securities statement or contract note.
If you get no reply
- 1Verify the sending address matches the registered one. This is the cause most of the time.
- 2Allow a full business day; late-Friday requests may not be handled until Monday.
- 3Call 022-6854-5555 — the phone route is often faster than email for SBI.
- 4Check spam and promotions for the reply.
Uploading the CMR to Polemarch
Once you have the PDF:
- 1Open Dashboard → Demat Accounts → Add.
- 2Pick your broker from the dropdown — broker-specific instructions appear inline.
- 3Upload the CMR PDF. If it is password-protected, type the password in the field below the file picker. We strip it server-side and store the unencrypted copy (max 2 MB; larger files are auto-compressed).
Our verification partner matches the PAN and holder name automatically. If everything matches, the demat is marked verified instantly. If not, it goes to manual review and we email you within one business day.
Shares you buy are delivered into your own demat account at CDSL or NSDL, in your name — Polemarch never holds them. Settlement is T+2 working days.
